Celebrating Health & Fitness w/ Elyse Valdes
Today is National Woman's Health & Fitness Day and we are celebrating the importance of Health & Fitness in our lives. We chose our brand name to be Ray of Light for many different reasons, but one of the most important is confidence. Our purpose is to strive to add to woman's confidence and natural beauty so her own Ray of Light can shine through. Our suits are made to fit and flatter you, to work with you and not against you. Our colors and prints are bold and bright because they are designed for you to stand out from the rest. For us, confidence isn't only about looking good but feeling good and we believe that it starts from within!
We're not gonna lie to you keeping a steady, committed workout routine is not easy - but our current fitspo (read: fitness inspiration) Elyse, makes it look so enjoyable, easy and fun that we have to share her with you too. We recently spent a day hanging out and working out with Elyse and we're talking all about how to stay consistent and committed in our fitness journey and sharing a few of her favorite beach ready, confidence building moves with you!
First things first: Starting and even more so committing to a new workout routine is tough but there's an easy fix to help you no matter your excuse:
Make it fun.
There's no rule saying you have to go to the gym and lift weights, go to yoga or pilates. Explore new things and find the activity that works for you. Once you have something you like it will be so much easier to stick to it, that you'll actually start planning and looking forward to it.
Just do it.
Don't think about it so much. If you're bored with what you're doing change up your routine. Our fitness journey shouldn't only be about transforming ourselves physically but also mentally and spiritually. The time of day we can set aside for ourselves and for our bodies to enjoy movement is so important for our mind to take a step back from the chaos of the day. With this conscious choice staying fit and healthy will become a part of who we are.
Build a community.
Start it up with a friend or group of friends. Find a gym, studio or even local community meet-up you feel comfortable in. All this will leave little room for boredom!
We hope all these tips help motivate you to start or even keep pushing on your fitness journey to a healthy lifestyle. Remember what's most important is surrounding yourself with people, places and activities that make you feel good from the inside out so you can continue your journey to becoming the best version of yourself.
